INDEPENDENT JOURNALIST
Dr. Chandana Kashyap

I am an independent journalist based in Guwahati, covering India's north-east, covering its land disputes, identity politics, and the quieter human cost of policy in a region national coverage often reaches last.

My work has appeared in Outlook India and TheSocialTalks, alongside Assamese-language newspapers, where I write on subjects ranging from the Assam Accord and CAA 2019 to gender, unemployment, and undercover journalism. My longest piece, "The Broken Promise," traces Assam's identity struggle across four decades, built on original interviews with a sitting Rajya Sabha MP and prominent Assamese cultural voices.

I hold a PhD in Commerce and a MA in Communication & Journalism, and I've completed journalism training with Reuters and Michigan State University. I am also the author of two e-books.
